Job description:

As a Health Information Coordinator at Samaritan Bethany, you will:

• Be responsible to maintain accurate information in the resident’s medical health record from the time they move in until they move out according to state and federal guidelines including
  • data entry of orders, diagnosis, immunizations, demographics
  • uploading documents and filing
  • making copies of medical records and other related forms
• Scheduling of resident appointments, arranging transportation, and volunteer escorts
• Managing required visits by the physicians and practitioners
• Communication both verbally and written with
  • outside providers including oxygen, podiatry, dental, pharmacy etc.
  • residents and their families
  • internal team members including nursing staff, social workers, dietary, business office, etc.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Formal education in Health Information Technology is preferred
• Prefer previous healthcare experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic knowledge of office procedures and equipment such as computer’s, faxes, phones
• Microsoft office, word, and excel
• Must be efficient, well organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize
